Jennie
O’Connor
Owner, Event Producer
Professional Bridal Consultant,
™
The “box of McDonald’s French fries” costume
for Halloween was definitely a clue to the
career path that Jennie was destined to
take. Innovation in design was of the utmost
importance to the self-taught seamstress,
who, with a B.A. in Theatrical Costume
Design from UCSD, spent her post-college
years dabbling in the fashion world.
Garments that Jennie constructed were
featured in German Vogue, and she served as
Associate Designer and Chief of Operations
to some of New York Fashion’s finest. These
experiences helped to create her eye for
gorgeous and unexpected aesthetics that set
her apart from the competition.
After returning to California, she entered
the hospitality industry, working for the
Sofitel Hotel in Los Angeles, and training
under some of LA’s most prestigious chefs
and award winning sommeliers. She discovered
a passion for fine food paired with
exquisite wines, and a flair for creating
cocktails, all of which has lead her to a
career in party planning.
During the transition from east coast to
west, Jennie completed the Association of
Bridal Consultants Professional Development
Program. As a distinguished graduate of the
program, she became the ceremony and
reception coordinator for the Edwards
Mansion, one of Inland Empire’s busiest
event venues. Simultaneously, she operated
Weddingsources.com, a free online research
engine for local brides, and organized the
company’s annual Bridal Expo.
Jennie founded Avant Event Production in
2005. The company gives her the opportunity
to work with a hip clientele who yearn for
something edgy and extraordinary. She prides
herself on a level of customer service that
far exceeds expectations. The Avant staff is
selected according to the high standards of
excellence and professionalism that Jennie
has developed throughout her varied
experiences in the industry.
We look forward to making your dream a
reality.
