Concept
Inspired by the artwork of Edward
Gorey, this graphic designer and set
designer couple created a visually
sensational look for their nuptials. With a
nod to Victorian fashion, and the stark
contrast of slightly gothic color
combinations, they ensured that their
wedding would look like no other. The bride
commissioned a dress to be made from her own
design, which included a hand-printed black
and cream striped border. The stripes on the
dress matched those on the half-vegan cake
created from scratch by the bride’s mother.
In an aptly poetic gesture, the couple
married in a circle fashioned out of
individual white daisies placed there
by each guest. And just to make sure that no
one took themselves too seriously, the
dessert course included do-it-yourself
cotton candy.
